LP LAUNCH SHOW

Our LP launch has been moved from the Dalston Victoria to The Old Fire Station in Stoke Newington. Now a fully DIY show. BYOB. Starts early as we need to clear out the gear and mop the floor by midnight. The Old Fire Station is a community hall, and there will be a meditation class taking place first thing on sunday morning.

Joining us:

THE SOFT WALLS
Solo project by Dan from Cold Pumas. Joined by a selection of other humans to create a powerful manifestation of introspective songs.

WITCHING WAVES
Power couple voice a dissatisfaction with the modern world.

PHONIC ROTATIONS
Former Areca Grove member investigates the intricacies and rhythms of whirring motors.

Architecture

The video for ‘Architecture’ is a visual homage to relics of the Brutalist and Modernist architectural movements and social-housing builds of the 1960s and 70s.
Shot across the London boroughs between W10 to E14 and featuring structures designed by the likes of Ernő Goldfinger, Neave Brown and Alison and Peter Smithson, the video examines the remnants of a now obsolete movement that saw virtue in honest and exposed functionality, bold monumental béton brut construction, and cellular repetitious aesthetics.
The song itself muses on the way in which some individuals struggle to cope with the political and social ideologies that exist within the architecture of a metropolis.
The video was directed by the band’s own Simon Marsham, with artist/film-maker Emma Charles acting as Director of Photography and Editor, and photographer Owen Richards providing an additional camera for the ‘live’ footage.

Extended appreciations to Emma Charles, as well as to Owen Richards and Lucy Anstey (who painted the backdrops), for giving up so many hours of their time gratis.
