CATCH UP

Whoops, forgot to write on this for a while.

We made a mix for Flashback Records ahead of our instore there

Then back in August we did a BBC 6 Music session for Marc Riley, which isn't on listen back anymore, but at various stages looked like this -

After that we played Andrew Mïlk's BIRTHDAY CRISIS at the Total Refreshment Centre

(Photo: Bark)

And then with Juan Wauters (no poster/photographic evidence)

That pretty much brings us up to date...

LP LAUNCH SHOW

Our LP launch has been moved from the Dalston Victoria to The Old Fire Station in Stoke Newington. Now a fully DIY show. BYOB. Starts early as we need to clear out the gear and mop the floor by midnight. The Old Fire Station is a community hall, and there will be a meditation class taking place first thing on sunday morning.

Joining us:

THE SOFT WALLS
Solo project by Dan from Cold Pumas. Joined by a selection of other humans to create a powerful manifestation of introspective songs.

WITCHING WAVES
Power couple voice a dissatisfaction with the modern world.

PHONIC ROTATIONS
Former Areca Grove member investigates the intricacies and rhythms of whirring motors.

CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR

"Challenging Behaviour is a weekend of shows in London featuring a whole bunch of DIY punk, hardcore and indie bands. It has been set up to raise money to support autistic and/or learning disabled adults in Hackney play and perform music.

The money raised will go towards supporting and setting up music workshops, buying equipment and promoting a series of shows with mixed ability line ups.

The festival is primarily a reaction to a gaping hole in Hackney council's approach to supporting vulnerable people."

EXPLODING INEVITABLE PSYCHICK YOOF PARTY

Welcome to 2014. We're putting on a show with some friends:

anorak-rockin scarecrow-shimmying tote-thumpin pop hits

and

All proceeds go to the bands, thanks!

XI

On the 4th of December, an Omi will be performing as part of an 11-piece guitar group at the opening of a new exhibition by Anarch Gallery.

Anarch organise exhibitions in a variety of interesting spaces, aiming to provide an alternative platform for new commissions; encouraging collaboration, risk-taking, discussion and realisation of new ideas that might otherwise be on the periphery.
They will be occupying the former lighting showroom and basement of 14 Warren Street, W1T 5LJ.

This exhibition will feature a new commission by Andrew T Cross and letters by Gordon Matta Clark, and will run between the 5th – 20th December.

On the opening night (December 4th), Phil of Omi Palone will be one of the guitarists performing a one off avant-garde work for 11 guitars entitled "XI", that pays homage to Ryhs Chatham’s Guitar Trio and the No Wave movement. Taking a guitar drone in the key of D as a starting point, the 11 players – made up of members of fellow London bands Cheatahs, Mazes, Male Bonding, Great Ytene, and Novella – will each take it in turn to improvise and explore tonal possibilities within the drone.

SLOWCOACHES 7" LAUNCH

Your favourite "soft-centered tough guy types" will be playing some "glum-rock" for you at the launch of Slowcoaches  new 7" EP Thinkers, coming out on Icecapades. Our love for Heather, Matty and Neil knows no bounds, and we are honoured to be supporting them as they release their new-born out into the world. Also playing are Feature, who will make you feel alright and/or consider the embodiment paradigm. There will be some special guests too. Surprises are great are they not?

Listen to a track off Thinkers here, and direct your eyes to the excellent poster for the launch show, made by Neil Zealand.

- At least one of us has never played in a band before
- At least one of us identifies as female or LGBTQ
- At least one of us has never played this instrument in a band"

NATIONAL MINIMUM RAGE

NMR consistently pull the cat outta the bag when it comes to DIY shows. They often put on bands that are in their infancy, and provide a much-needed platform for new faces/sounds.

Real happy to have been invited to headline their show in the basement of a local cafe that i've never heard of. It's always a pleasure to diverge from the well-trodden path of the same ol' circuit, especially with the added bonus of not having to schlep our gear too far at the end of the night.

// sweet, sweet punk music. There's a flying nun stuck in thee garage

// Glasgow based summery indie pop

//Grupo musical from Argentina, catch them while you can - "simple stripped back indie pop with great melodies - perfect sunshine vibes! " - PICADILLY RECORDS

//high energy fractured pop songs. "So clever!!" - Rachel Aggs

NEGATIVE SPACE

Our next London show will be for Negative Space. They've only put on a couple of shows, but are shaping up to be the best promoters around. There will be no advanced tickets, no cheap list, and it is a non-profit show. Come support the good guys.
